Speedo Sprint Series Finals

Joseph Assi will represent Metro South West at the Speedo Sprint Series Finals at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre today.

Joseph has qualified for the 50m Breaststroke after finishing 4th at the area heats in February.

This is the second time Joseph has qualified for the finals. Well done Joseph!

Metropolitan Championships

Merrylands will be represented by 2 swimmers at the NSW Senior Metropolitan Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on 27-28 February, 2020.

Our team will contest 6 events at the meet and consists of:

Merrylands SwimFest Results

Merrylands had awesome results at our SwimFest Carnival this weekend!

As a team, we achieved 92 PBs, 7 Gold Medals, 12 Silver and 19 Bronze Medals.  Merrylands came third overall in the pointscore.

Thank you to our committee members who did so much work behind the scenes to enable the meet to go ahead with ever-changing restrictions.  Thank you to everyone who helped set up before the meet and pack away afterwards.  Thank you to our timekeepers and visiting clubs who assisted with timing.  Thank you to our BBQ chefs, runners, marshals, check starters, recorders, announcers and visiting referees. Thank you to our captains and coaches. Thank you to our swimmers for bringing their enthusiasm and thank you to the parents for preparing the swimmers' food!

Ripples St Marys wins 2021 Merrylands SwimFest

While there was rain and storms forecast, the sun was shining at the 2021 SwimFest.

Congratulations to Ripples St Marys on taking out the 2021 SwimFest Pointscore!

Mounties finished in 2nd place and Merrylands came 3rd.

Thank you to everyone who attended the meet and for all the volunteers who gave up time to make our meet happen!

Merrylands SwimFest

Two hundred swimmers will attend this year's Merrylands SwimFest at Merrylands Swimming Centre tomorrow.

This year's meet has been restricted to 6 clubs from the Metro South West Area.

Competitors can download the Meet Program from the Merrylands SwimFest section of our website. Live Results will also be available during the meet.

A full timeline and list of clubs competing is also available. Please note that the timeline should be used as a guide only.

Visiting clubs are reminded to bring their own chairs and shelter as there is limited seating and cover at Merrylands Swimming Centre.

The Merrylands SwimFest has been held every year since the 1978/1979 season. Originally the meet formed part of the Holroyd Family Festival and was known as the Holroyd Family Festival Swimming Carnival. In 2004 it was renamed The Merrylands SwimFest.

Metro South West Junior Championships - Distance

Congratulations to Matthew Vicic who won the 200m Butterfly at the Metro South West Junior Championships Distance Meet held today.

While Matthew turned in 2nd place with 50m to go, his efforts at training working on his finishes certainly paid off!   Matthew came over the top to achieve the gold, winning the event by 0.16 seconds.

Well done Matthew!

 

 

 

Speedo Sprint Results

Merrylands had a team of 18 swimmers compete at the Speedo Sprint Series Heats held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre today.

Our swimmers had a fantastic meet and every one of our swimmers contributed to the team’s tally of 54 new PBs! 10 of our swimmers achieved personal best times in every event they swum!

Congratulations to Joseph Assi who came 4th in the 10 years 50m Breaststroke and will represent the Metro South West Area at the Speedo Sprint Finals.

Thank you to all our parents for supporting our team and thank you to our coaches for preparing our swimmers.

NSW Open Water Championships

Two swimmers will represent Merrylands at the NSW Open Water Championships at the Sydney International Regatta Centre today.

This is day 2 of the championships after it was postponed in December last year. Matthew Vicic and Summer Shrestha will both compete in the 5km event.

This is the first time Matt and Summer have qualified for this event - congratulations!
