Greg Towle - Open Water Coach of the Year 10 December 2004 Peter-Johnston Latest News Former member of the Merrylands A.S.C. Coaching Staff, Greg Towle, has today been jointly awarded the Swimming Australia Open Water Coach-of-the-Year Award. Greg received the award as the coach of Grant Cleland who became the first Australian male to win the five-kilometre world title at the 2004 FINA World Open Water Championships in Dubai (UAE) last month. Greg was a member of our club's coaching staff from 2000 to 2002 and was heavily involved in coaching members of our successful 2001 State Age Short Course Team.
