NSW State Masters Results

The Masters Swimming NSW Long Course Championships were held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on the 4th and 5th April, 2014.

Merrylands had 7 swimmers competing at this event with 33 individual entries and 2 relays. For Tricia and Ian Johnston it was their first time swimming at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre and they both enjoyed the experience, once the initial nerves subsided.

Our swimmers achieved 8 PBs over the 2 day meet and picked up a haul of 16 medals.

These are excellent results considering our team is focused on the Australian Masters Long Course Championships to be held at Rockhampton in 2 weeks’ time.

Alison Sakurovs and Peter Johnston both received awards during the presentation at the Championships. Alison was presented with a towel for winning the 25-29yrs age group in the 2013 Branch Point Score Competition, while Peter received the Masters Swimming NSW Coach of the Year Award for 2013.
