Ready.Set.Race

Our next Ready.Set.Race event will be held on Saturday 27th January, 2018. This is a great morning for kids looking to have fun and get some racing practice for their school swimming carnival.

Do you know someone who has children aged 7 to 12 years who are not already a swimming club member and would enjoy some races and a skills coaching session? A great way to prepare for school carnivals. They must be able to swim 25 metres Freestyle and 25 metres Backstroke and/or 25m Breaststroke.

The cost is $5 per swimmer (plus pool entry) and entry is at https://www.merrylandsasc.asn.au/readysetrace/

Speedo Sprint Heats

The Speedo Sprint Series caters for girls and boys aged between 8-13 years in 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 50 m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly events and is a great way to have fun and learn new skills in a friendly environment.

Due to its timing, the meet, along with the Merrylands SwimFest, also provides good practice for School Swimming Carnivals. All club members aged from 8 to 13 are encouraged to enter.

This year's meet will be held on Sunday, 11th February, 2018 at Blacktown Aquatic Centre (races start at 1.00pm). Online entries close on Tuesday 30th January, 2018.

Sports Camps Australia – Junior Swimming Camp

Sports Camps Australia and Swimming NSW are hosting swimming camps these school

Youth Advisory Panel’s Twilight Race Party

Swimming NSW ’s Youth Advisory Panel has been busy organising an event designed specifically by teenagers for teenagers. Reece Tomkinson is a member of the Youth Advisory Panel and he has been active in the work to plan this event. The Twilight Race Party will be held on Saturday 17th February, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at the Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, Bexley.

Active Kids Program

As previously advised this NSW Government initiative commences on 31st January, 2018. It is a program open to all NSW school enrolled children and provides each child with a voucher for $100 to use towards an eligible sport activity every calendar year.

Registration to obtain a voucher will be available from 31st January, 2018 and the voucher is valid for use until 31st December, 2018. You can retain the voucher to use when swimming registrations for the 2018/2019 season occur in October 2018.
