The day will give locals the chance to engage with their swimming community through organised activities. From 9am new and existing club members are invited to Merrylands Swimming Centre to enjoy a barbecue and have a go at our ‘come and try’ events and novelty races. Non-members can get a feel for the club atmosphere at their local pool, socialise with existing members and experience the team environment of a swim club. GO Swim ambassador and five time Olympic medallist Alicia Coutts said being involved in a positive club environment is vital to swimming success. “Being a part of a local swim club is a great way to make new friends and the EnergyAustralia GOSwim Days bring together like-minded people in an enjoyable and welcoming environment,” she said.
